The resonant curve of the Sounding Bowl reflects the sound into the players ear in a way that no other instrument does. This creates a magical space between player and instrument that is so conducive to reflective feelings that many people use their Sounding Bowl for meditation. It is also one of the qualities that has enabled multiply handicapped children respond to and enjoy Sounding Bowls when no other instrument has interested them. The string sound also reverberates through the body of the instrument so that even deaf children get good feedback and enjoyment from playing a Sounding Bowl.
Speakers on any sound system are unable to recreate this experience in it’s full richness. Please allow for the fact that what you are here receiving is only a hint of the experience of holding and playing a Sounding Bowl |
